I'm on the horns of a dilemma. I desperately need a new monitor (currently using a LaCie Electron Blue IV 22" CRT) which cannot be properly calibrated anymore. I'm a graphics pro and need a high quality monitor. Thinking about either getting the new 27" Cinema Display or buying a 30" ACD before supply vanishes. The cons of buying the new 27" are having to purchase an additional cable (I have an ATI X1900 card, which only has DVI) and if I read posts here correctly, may not allow me to take advantage of the audio speakers built into the 27". Are there any other drawbacks? Or I could get a new graphics card, like the Radeon HD4870, which would set me back about $350. Also I prefer a 16:10 ratio as I do a lot of print work. I've never used a glossy screen and not sure how much that would bother me as I generally work in low light without windows. On the other hand, the 30" display, is expensive and being discontinued and if I were to get a new mac in the next few years, I might have connection issues down the road. I have been reading on the forum about the Dell U2711 but it is a tft screen, so not really sure how that compares. The more I think and read about this, the more confused I get. Would welcome any thoughts or suggestions.
