iPod touch Graphics comparison?

I read up somewhere that the iphone 3G S has a totally improved graphics thing that surpasses the previous gen iphones completely. In the future, some games won't be able to be handled on anything but the iphone 3G S. So my question is, how does the ipod touch 2g fall in this category? The touch came out in September after the iphone 3g was announced, so it probably has better graphics? Either way, I'm waiting for the touch 3g.

I believe the iPod touch still has OpenGL 1.1, while the iPhone 3G S supports OpenGL ES 2.0.
