Graphics issue with dual monitors

I have a MacBook and an additional monitor (not mirrored). When a graphic loads, a black rectangle takes up a significant portion of the screen. Sometimes it is on one monitor, sometimes on the other, sometimes both.

Any idea how to get rid of it?
