Does anyone know how much Mavericks will improve upon graphics performance in something like games? I know that OpenGL has been updated to 4.1, but will it increase fps or anything of that sort?
This is not directly related but in mavericks i have OpenGL 3.3 core whereas in ML i have 3.2. Is Apple keeping complete 4.0 and 4.1 from my 4850M card?
The 4850's hardware doesn't support key DirectX 11 / OpenGL 4.x level features - tessellation shaders are the big one. Apple isn't keeping it from you.
If you download the OpenGL Extensions Viewer you'll be able to see exactly what parts of OpenGL are supported on your system. It's likely many (but not all) of 4.0 and 4.1's features are supported for you.
My card Geforce 8600M GT supports OpenGL 3.3, but now I'm at 2.1. Does this mean that Nvidia needs to update the drivers?
Thanks, with Core i have OpenGL 3.3.change opengl profile from "compatibility" to "core" at the top

1. Intel drivers are better optimized under Linux as OS X.1. it's for Intel outdated HD3000 graphics only (noone knows for sure for more recent graphics by nVidia, for example)
2. 10.9 haven't been released yet, so it's all premature I beleive.
