Hi there

I have a 17" 2.93GHz MBP, 4GB ram, matte screen, and it's running 10.6.2. I also have a 30" Apple Cinema Display. Finally, the Adapter Type is: Mini DisplayPort To Dual-Link DVI Adapter (Adapter Firmware Version: 1.01).

Unfortunately, when waking from sleep, i sometimes get this kind of distortion:

This can occur when using both the NVIDIA GeForce 9400M and the 9600M GT, but it doesn't happen every single time - usually happens once a day, however. The only way to resolve the issue is to remove the mini displayport plug from the laptop, then put it back in - then it's fine.

Another issue is that every now and again, the screen will go 'blank' for a second or so, then come back as normal. This will happen roughly 3 times a day, at least when i'm looking

Pretty sure this isn't an issue with the Cinema Display as it was running with a PC for months without a glitch, and seems to be flawless.

When the MBP itself is not plugged into the monitor, there are no graphic issues on the MBP screen.

Has anyone had this before? Where do you guys believe the problem lies?

Thanks for any info shared

Edd
