Does anyone know how I can keep my 2011 MBP from switching graphics during battery use. I want to keep it on Integrated Graphics while I am using the battery. I am monitoring the graphics through the gfxCardStatus app. The app has settings for Integrated Graphics only but when I launch some apps (i.e. Twitter), my MBP switches to Discrete Graphics, which drains my battery. It seems gfxCardStatus does not keep it from switching to Discrete. I am running Lion 10.7.1. Thanks

gfxCardStatus works. It should have an icon on your status bar - click it and choose Integrated Only. Or, in the preferences you can choose to always switch to integrated when on battery.

I tried this. When I launch an App (i.e. Twitter) my graphics card switches to Discrete graphics even though I have gfxCardStatus set to Integrated Only. I also set Preferences so when I am battery to only use Integrated. Not sure why it is changing with these settings.

Email the developer, that is clearly a bug.
