Gray Pictures? What happened to my photos?

I took some pictures about 10 minutes ago and I'm trying to import them, but only a piece of each picture showed up. EX:

The file icon shows the picture like normal, but in preview and iphoto it shows up with varying amounts of greyness.

Corrupt media? Try reformatting the memory card and see if the problem persists and if so try using a different card.

The thumbnails are a separate entity so they can be intact even if the actual images they represent are damaged.
