Hello,
I have OS X Lion 10.7.5. I installed Windows 7 using Bootcamp. Everything worked ok until this morning. When starting in OS X, the gray screen with the Apple Logo and the spinning gear stays on forever (i.e., I left it running for 2 hours today). Windows works normally.
Yesterday I: installed a flash player update, edited .bash_profile to define / change environment variables, installed jdk.
According to this post http://macs.about.com/od/usingyourmac/qt/Mac-Stalls-On-Gray-Screen-At-Startup.htm, i need to replace my startup drive... .
Because I was able to start in OS X using the Lion Recovery HD, I ran repair on my disk (nothing bad found though) and yet I'm still unable to perform a normal or a safe boot. There are no peripherals / cables connected...
