I had a Safari update on Monday so I clicked update and went to work. When I came home the screen was gray and it was beeping 3 times every 5 seconds (bad RAM). Tried safe mode, reset NVRAM, and SMC reset. Only thing that works is internet hardware test. I ran the short test and it told me battery fault. I ran the in depth test (over 3 hours) and it gave me battery fault again.
I went to the hardware info tab and unplugged my battery. Here are the readings -
12.56 volts at 98%
2 1/2 minutes later = 11.95v at 96%
5 minutes later = 11.88v at 93%
10 minutes later = 11.76v at 88%
Here is a short video of what happens during start up
Last night I tried the internet recovery tool and the progress bar made it 2/3 before the gray screen. I'm not sure why I could run a 3 hour internet hardware test but can't get into the internet software test. I am stationed in Korea so it's not like I can run to the local Apple Store and get it looked at. There are service providers here but I was hoping this might be an easy self repair but I am not sure.
This does fit the 2011 MBP video card apple repair program criteria. Any ideas or clues?
