Something really wonderful happens when you listen to a great acoustic version of a song you enjoy. Maybe it's the intimacy of it all. Post up some your favs - modern or old, doesn't matter what genre :)

I'll kiskstart it with a couple

Colin Hay - Down Under (chillingly good, one of my favourites)

Brent Smith - Devour (I reckon this guy is one to watch improve over time)

I can't think of too many acoustic versions of otherwise recorded songs. When I first saw the thread the Eagles' Unplugged version of Hotel California came to mind, though.

I agree about acoustic music, though. I saw Jonny Diaz about a week ago. He is an incredible singer/songwriter. The emotion in his songs is so much stronger when it's just him and his guitar versus a full band.

Metallica, meet Rodrigo y Gabriela:

I should also mention that the percussion is all Guitar, and mainly Gabriela. No other percussion is used. BTW: They are not Flamenco guitarists. They specialize in metal, but just took it to a whole new level.

I have more, but those are for starters.

BL.

Yeah, Rodrigo y Gabriela has some really cool stuff. I love their self-titled album.

YouTube: video

EDIT: This forum needs to implement some kind of YT BB-code tag. Christ.
There is. the part after v= in the url (Without the space in the second tag... thing.) It changes to Youtube: video when you quote someone who had a video embedded.

Also, I like this acoustic cover.
