There are lots of angry comments online from people upset about how they think they got screwed by the person who wrote a piece of software. It's a natural reaction, and I know I've done it. I thought it would be cool if we had a thread for the cool developers.

Here's my shout-out: The guy at Limit Point Software has an unusual business model, and I hope he gets rich.

Go to his web site and check over his software. For his utilities -- 55 of them -- if you find one you like/need, you pay him a donation. The password he emails you is good for all of his utilities. In essence, you've purchased 55 pieces of software. How slick is that?

I use two of his contextual menus regularly -- one moves files to around my hard disk, the other copies a file's path. I had a web issue the other day and used his Blue Crab Lite to download the web pages on a site.

These aren't heavy-lift issues, but it's great to know that if there's a problem, there's a place to turn for a potential solution. [And for the record, I don't know the guy.]

Do y'all have similar stories?
