I ordered a retina macbook pro from MacMall it was dead on arrival, then I noticed there policy was that all apple computers had to be taken to apple for warranty repairs and I didn't want to have a brand new computer repaired. I gave them a call and they sent another one out to me right away!! With a discount code and no tax I saved $234 vs buying from Apple. :D

What exactly does "dead on arrival" mean for a laptop?

Congrats. I ordered from them on the 26th and all I get is is that my BTO machine is backordered. That was to be expected. But if I don't hear something by Friday, my order will be cancelled. Tax free weekend starts Friday, so I can order directly from Apple.

Ditto, except mine works fine. MacMall was pleasant to deal with, called to confirm my order and also called to update me on my order status. Very nice, no sales tax and discount code from AppleInside saved me a bundle! :)
