I have an HP LaserJet 400 color M451dn. For years now, I have been using remanufactured toner cartridges in it. True, the printer driver warns me that the installed cartridges are not genuine, but I have had little trouble with them.
On those few occasions, when I did, Mark, the owner of Swift Ink, where I have been ordering the cartridges, was quick to respond. He would ask for feedback on a couple of tests I could run and then promptly sent out replacements, completely free of charge. That kind of customer service, I am sure, is not matched by Hewlett Packard itself.
HP’s practice of including a UPS label for returning empty cartridges is just a ruse. The want customers to think that they are helping recycling, when what’s always better than recycling is to reuse. That’s precisely what they want to prevent. I wouldn’t be surprised, if they simply destroyed all the cartridges returned to them.
What I love about using remanufactured cartridges is that it both minimizes the waste of material but is also considerably more economical for me. The cost of the cartridges I get, depending on what kind of promotion is running at the time of my order, is one half down to sometimes one third of what I would have to pay for HP-branded cartridges.
So, this is not meant as an infomercial, as I will gain no benefit from my product testimonial. Instead, I am hoping that Swift Ink will get rewarded for being awesome by getting more exposure.
