That's an awesome video! Your link is messed up though.

Worked for me.

Squid. That is lovely! I'm so glad I went with the retina display *marvels*

I hope people post more videos! (please?)

Guys, I'm curious about how you are saying these videos "take advantage of" the Retina Display. Yeah, these videos are available in crazy resolutions (some up to 4K) but according to another thread I started, the iPad doesn't even play them beyond 720p :/

I'm rather confused. Are you guys just meaning that the videos look great, just because colour saturation etc is better. Or do you think your iPad is playing these at a resolution that takes advantage of the Retina display? Because according to the folks in the thread I've linked to, the iPad doesn't do that with those websites...

I just watched http://vimeo.com/22439234 side-by-side on my iPad 1 and new iPad. The color is definitely much richer on the new iPad. The iPad 1 has a visible pixel grid which obscures detail somewhat. I had never noticed the pixel grid until I got the new iPad but now it is really obvious on the iPad 1. The difference in actual detail between the two is fairly minor though, but is slightly noticeable when there is fine detail in the image, especially if the videos are paused.

Obviously the old iPad can only show 1280x720 video at 1024x576 which is 589,824 pixels in total. The new one can show the full 720p which is 921,600 pixels (upscaled of course to 2048x1152 which is 2,359,296 pixels, more than half of which are interpolated due to upscaling).
