This is weird. I was taking photos of a cat (not in burst mode) using 24MP, HEIF, 1.5x (35mm) in the default camera app. All the photos are fine except for this one which has this green bar or band at the bottom edge of the photo.
I checked the photo resolution and it appears the green band is actually part of the photo and not an extra part tagged on.
The green band responds to edits in the Photos app and third party apps like Snapseed, it’s like that part of the scene just wasn’t captured by the sensor and instead it’s just spitting out green pixels to form part of the image.
I didn’t realise until I checked the photos.
What could it be? All other photos are fine. I was thinking hardware but all other photos are fine? Like 80+ photos in the same session.
I didn’t drop the phone or anything. Tried rebooting.
iPhone 15 Pro 256GB with iOS 17.0.2.
Thank you.
Edit: I looked at it closely and it appears that the green band is actually applied on top of the image. So it’s not just a strip of green pixels.
