Hey all,

My boyfriend's sister bought an Apple Macbook Pro (unibody) in July/August of 2009. She's had 2 problems with an existing hard drive, which I think got replaced, but how we're having another one.

She started up her Macbook yesterday to find a blank grey screen--no apple icon, no file with question mark, etc. I looked at it last night and the weirdest thing happened. She has her computer boot camped--Windows only on 20 GB of her hard drive. She started it up for me once to show me, but it started in Windows (but it should automatically start in Mac). Said there was a disk error. Then, I restarted it and pressed the "option" key to select the partition I wanted. The only option I had was Windows (no Mac option, which I thought was weird). I quickly called up a friend who is a certified technician and while I was talking to him animated cloud/smoke appeared and the option for Windows disappeared. I was left with a grey screen again. I restarted and tried to select the Windows option, but the computer froze.

I didn't know if anyone had this problem or knew anything about it. I've had experience with software and hardware issues with hard drive, but never had this happen. I tried to find help on the internet, but nothing came up.

Thanks!
