Grey Screen of Death

So I was upgrading to Mountain Lion last night on my MacBook Pro (Late-2008). It rebooted to a grey screen with a "do not enter" symbol!! I let it sit for a few hours and nothing. I did a hard reboot. same screen. Anyone else get this? I do have a time capsule but can't even boot to an OS to do a restore. Any ideas??

Try Command-R during boot?
