Got the Griffin iTrip Clip last week:

Use it for the iPhone 7 Plus, plug my old ear buds into it. The only complaint I have is that the audio is really loud. It's almost too loud with the phone's audio just 1-2 notches above muted.

Has anyone else noticed this?

Mine too. It's as if the base level is set too high.
Does the battery level always show 100% on yours?
It'll show 100 and then all of a sudden show 50 and then die.
It's an ok product but I feel like there are a lot of bugs that I'm running into.

Yes, it works while charging. You'll need to have access to it to it to turn it on as it turns off when you leave it.
