Third-party accessory manufacturer Griffin today announced a new combination Apple Watch and iPhone charging stand called the "WatchStand Powered Charging Station." The dock takes the original design of the company's WatchStand dock and adds on a new section that acts as a landing pad to charge an iPhone or iPad next to the Apple Watch.

The new version of the WatchStand comes with a built-in power supply and two dedicated USB charging ports so the cable clutter is visually reduced trailing out from the back of the dock. The WatchStand's underside provides multiple cable management opportunities to ensure that the cords for the Apple Watch and iPhone don't become unruly when both are placed on the stand.

Just as with the original WatchStand, the new version supports all bands for the Apple Watch and can even adapt to horizontal and vertical positions, giving users the option to try out new WatchOS 2 features like Nightstand mode. The base of the WatchStand lets users place their iPhone either on the top of a flat, felt surface or angled against the piece that holds up the Apple Watch, to watch videos while the iPhone charges.

The WatchStand Powered Charging Station is available to purchase from Griffin's official website for $59.99 starting today.

Needs support for Pencil... and Keyboard, and Mouse and Trackpad.

IMO, the best Apple Watch stand is the one Apple made, Apple Watch Edition case. Some may not frankly love the design, but I think it looks chic and it has many useful functions too. Its soft padding protects the watch extremely well. It can be used to transport the watch. And it is nightstand friendly to boot. The angle may not be too ideal for nightstand purpose though.

I am frankly baffled that no major 3rd party has produced a stand similar to it.

There's a thing called Amber on Kickstarter right now that is the closest I've found. I backed it because I'm willing to give it a shot b/c I love the look of the edition box

This is a nice try, sure, and can enter the ranks of awkward looking charging stands for the watch and phone, but they missed the boat on upcoming product releases by not including a tower-style mount for the AppleTV.

Here is my honest warning to all those looking to purchase this. I have the older version of this stand, and the angle of the watch is too steep, and if you have the stainless steel model, a slight tap might make your watch fall down. Also, if you rest your iPhone the way shown in the picture without a case, a notification rattle will be amplified because the base is metal. Overall, this product is very poorly designed and I don't recommend it, nor do I have a recommendation right now because there isn't that many great alternatives.

Looks great but it seems to obscure the display even more than Apple Edition case.

The front edge should be lowered to not block the screen. Then it would truly be nightstand friendly.

I just lay my iPhone flat next to my bed and my watch hangs from the Elevation Lab NightStand, which I've mounted vertically about 18" off the ground on my bed post. It has a really weird suction adhesive that doesn't leave any residue. I've only knocked my watch off of it once (I wish they sold a version where the magnetic part tilts forward, but I was being stupid when I grabbed it by reaching way too far across the bed trying to use my fingertips), but it only falls 18" onto carpet so it's not a big deal. I always forget to take off my watch when getting into bed so it's really easy to stick it on before sleep or in the middle of the night. My only issue is that it's kinda expensive for what you get at $30, but I do really like it and the "NanoPad" suction foot. Simple and looks decent.

I actually charge my SS Watch in the case it came in every night. It's perfect for Nightstand mode.

Of course, the charger isn't integrated... I simply put the Watch in the box and then hook the charger to the back of the Watch. Works perfectly...

That's as ugly as. Until something comes out that reflects the aesthetics of the watch I'll stick to the supplied Apple charger.

Most nightstands don't have that much real estate for something this size. I like the concept of the Amber, but they could have cut the center down and then made the top to fit in.
And I agree with most, it's ugly.
