Griffin PowerMate and PowerBook booting?

Hi!

I am looking on getting a PowerMate from Griffin as I want to startup my PowerBook (Ti 400MHz) using this device. Has anyone gotten any experience qith this kind of hardware? Does the startup function work with this PBook model (it says only some models work) ?

As far as I know, it only hooks into the software of OS X so that you can control stuff by turning the knob. So I'm guessing its more of the OS than the hardware, other than you need a USB port for it. Where do you read that it doesn't work with certain PBs?

Wake from sleep - yes. Power up? Doubtful. I've never tried power up with my powermate, but otherwise it works great with my Rev A. 17" Powerbook.

i have a powermate and as far as i know you can not turn the comp on with it.

only comtrol programmes with it. you can wake from sleep though
