So about 2 weeks ago, I was watching Netflix for a day. I believe after that, my computer began making a crackling noise. Now it's become a grinding noise that can be louder than my TV and it's infuriating. I went to the genius bar in hopes of getting it replaced or looked at and I was willing to pay for it since it's out of warranty - although I didn't really mention it to the tech.

I told him the problem and he ran 2 diagnostics to make sure it wasn't my HD being fried or anything. My computer's main board was fine. I asked if there was anything that could be done about the fans because I honestly think it is the fans, he said no - that everything was fine and I'd have to "put up with it" -.- What.

Anyways, I thought was really strange because I've heard similar problems happening with other people and they got theirs looked at. I know I could open it up myself and try to look into it, but I honestly don't trust myself enough to do that.

If anyone could tell me what I could do - I am going back to the GB on Monday to see a different technician to see if I can actually get it fixed.

For reference, the sound is like this: http://youtu.be/naxUUpHJ4a0

Also, I turned on my laptop this morning and that was the noise it made. I hadn't done anything but turn it on - so honestly, is it really just the fan that's the problem?
