Does anybody know if there is an advantage to using the Grounded Power Cord to the Charger/Adapter vs Charger/Adapter plugged directly in the wall socket?

Not that I know of (unless you live in an area which has frequent power outages or unstable electricity). You should be fine.

Some claim they get a little shock now and then from the Air, then a grounded plug cured it. Other than that, whatever float ur boat.

Yep, that's what I figured. Thanks for the responses!

i dont know the real implications of not using a power surge, but i tend to err on the side of caution when possible and use one. but i don't go out of my way to make sure it is.
