If I turn off Group Messaging in settings, what does that do exactly. I don't like being part of them and getting replies constantley.

You will still get the text if you are included in the group, but they will come as an individual text instead of from the group thread.

IOS 8 fixes this with the ability to either remove yourself from the group or turn on a do not disturb function for a specific group.

You can ask the person who started the group to remove you for now though.

Or anyone in the group. They need to just start a new group without you in it.

I'm really looking forward to being able to DnD a specific group.
