Hi MacRumors,

I’m the developer of GroupTab, an alternative app switcher for macOS that lets you arrange running apps into row-based groups to keep context and cut the usual Cmd-Tab clutter. Website: https://beshr.com/grouptab/

What it does:
  • Group apps into rows and switch within a group or hop between groups to stay focused.
  • MRU ordering for both apps and groups; Shift+Tab reverses as you’d expect.
  • Option+Tab to bring up the switcher; navigate with arrow keys or hjkl while holding Option (regular Tab cycles apps in a row also).
  • Drag and drop to organize; there’s a default group for unassigned apps.
  • While holding Option, you can move the focused app between groups with Shift+Up/Down (or Shift+K/J).
I'd love some feedback on whether grouping improves your flow vs Cmd-Tab, any rough edges or bugs you encounter, and overall performance and UX feel.

You can try by joining the TestFlight beta on https://testflight.apple.com/join/GhGVn9F2. You can check out some screenshots and more details on https://beshr.com/grouptab/.

I’ll use this single thread for GroupTab updates per the forum guidelines. For individual support issues, please use the support link, TestFlight feedback, or just email me directly, so this thread stays focused on feedback.

Thanks!
