Just when I am finishing a letter to a friend.. WHAM the service stops responding, and I couldn't send the message!

Oh well. Hopefully they fix it soon!

I transitioned all my e-mail addresses to gmail and let all my friends know in the fall of 2005. Some friends of mine moved about an hour away and wanted my wife and I to visit the house they bought. I asked them to e-mail me the directions to my new gmail account. This was on Friday morning. I got the e-mail on Monday morning. Needless to say I just called for directions, but ever since then I haven't used my gmail account.

i've never had problems with my Gmail account but sometimes servers are unavailable so you just have wait.

I must admit, I have found the GMail system very very good. I have had no issues with it at all. I use Mail.app with it daily and have been very happy with the solution. Spam filter is second to none.

Perhaps try creating a new address?

and same here. Gmail is amazing. saying your switch to hotmail must be a joke. i have never had problems with gmail. guess what cry babies? sometimes servers have problems. sometimes their down for a few minutes.

Hotmail blows. The web interface is clunky.

I use gmail now with Mail.app. No problems on my side.
