Hi everyone,
I am in desperate need of a new mac. The iMac G4 1.25GHz with 512RAM is not cutting it anymore.
I have a specific need to run Aperture, Lightroom, Photoshop and other 2D editing apps. I NEVER game. I am not a gamer, I do not play games, want games or care about CoD4 Framerate benchmarks.
I DO care however if the increase from 256 to 512 is going to make a huge difference for Aperture, Photoshop, Lightroom... etc.
I have heard conflicting stories both from apple store employees (*The creatives, and specialists) and forum users from around the web that RAM makes more of a difference than Graphics do, but again there is conflicting thought on this.
I have an IMMEDIATE need for this so my preference is going to the Apple Store, and getting the 1799 model ASAP, not ordering a custom one with the GT 130. Obviously if there is a HUGE and NOTICEABLE difference in them, I would be willing to wait, but again, I need this ASAP.
