How much of a performance jump is really likely between the two? I was intending to get the 21" because of size (27" is, IMO, unnecessarily big).

The processor was no biggie (between 3.1GHz and 3.5GHz i7? Don't think I'll feel it) but how about the graphics? GT750M vs GTX775M?

Well, the 775M is a rebranded 680M, it has over 3 times the shader cores compared to the 750M. So it should be twice (at least) as fast as 750M in GPU-limited scenarios.

I'm coming from a first-gen Retina MBP with the GT650M (I think that's the one?) and intending to move to a current-gen iMac. GPU-wise, how much of a performance gap would there be between the 650M and 750M?

Are looking at the GT 755M or GT 750M. There is a difference. As for the iMac, the GTX 775M offers 103% better performance than the base GT 755M.

Once Mavericks is out I will get a new 27" iMac.
Either the base 27" with 3.2GHz, a 1TB Fusion Drive, 8GB Ram (upgrading on my own once I need it), and the GT 755M, or the higher model with 3.4GHz, Fusion Drive, 8GB Ram, and GTX 775M.

I will use it for 3D CAD programs, some games (mainly Minecraft and older games, but I would like to try BF4 (or 3) if it runs smoothly), and general University stuff like word processing and Internet research.

Do you guys think the better GPU is worth the extra 170€?

I would like to use it for about 6 or 7 years so I'm also thinking about future proofing.

Some help would be appreciated :)

I rarely game. F1 2012 & F1 2013 are probably the graphics-heaviest games I'll play. Is the GTX775 a worthy upgrade over the GT750M in that case?

I do a lot of snazzy presentations with some of the more fancy Keynote builds at times, which was even at one point enough to cause the nVidia 9400M in my old unibody 15" (1st gen) to stutter, but I think the 750M should take that in its stride no questions asked.
