Does anybody know if it's possible to use/hack an external controller or gamepad (wired or wireless) to enable control of games like the newly released Grand Theft Auto III? I know that the OnLive service already have a controller that allows this to happen with their games being viewed/played on iPad.

This would really be a game changer for the iPad.....

Not really the answer to all my prayers as it only works with a select few games....but something!!

Don't even consider it. At $80 it costs more than an XBox 360/PS3 controller, and only supports a handful of Gameloft titles. It isn't even comfortable to hold.

If you're jailbroken that opens up a few possibilities, including Wii controller.

I thought negative votes were removed??

Cool little tweak. I'll have to give that a try sometime this week.

EDIT: Don't feel like trying it for $7 lol

You can safely pay $7 for it - unless you need analogue support, it's GREAT. I've written several articles on configuring it for games / external controllers and have been using it with, say, the new Metal Slug a lot.
