Hey I was wondering how well does GTA IV work on the 6490m Graphic card that comes with the base Early 2011 model in Windows(via Bootcamp).

Anyone playing it? If so what level of settings, resolutions and if you are getting lag? Please list the best working settings thanks

I run it just fine with my specs listed via VirtualMachine so you should be fine.

I run it in Windows 7 32-bit using Bootcamp on my 2010 MacBook Pro 2,4 GHz i5. It runs on Low settings at 1280 by 800 with an average of 30-40 fps.

If my MBP can run it then yours can too.

thanks for the feedback, but my main point of the thread is to hopefully hear from someone with the same MBP model & specs as mine(GPU/CPU only)

Not good. GTA 4 limits the graphics based on VRAM. I can play GTA 4 on my 15" 2010 at 16xAA, yet the game refuses me to change all the other settings. My GPU obviously has enough power to run at much higher settings if i can play at 16xAA .

GTA 4 is one of those games where 256 mb VRAM just sucks, regardless of how powerful your GPU might be.

edit: You'll still be able to play the game fine, but only with low graphics unfortunately.

ok thanks, I'm not planning on playing all the time due to studies but here n there feel like playing the good ol GTA but since I have played all others in the past I wanna try this one as its more realistic and improved compared to San Andreas. Also currently don't have any game systems at all.
