Nope.
No part of the MacBook is good enough, you need at least a quad core CPU too.

It would be great if someone would make the game compatible for macs, too. I hope they will in the future, like with GTA San Andreas.

GTA4 on macbook, lol. Best joke of the year. Even a GTX280 struggles with GTA4. It's not that the game is that demanding, it's just a poorly ported/poorly optimized game for pc. It eats vram like no other game. Anyways, the cheapest solution is buying a PS3 or xbox if you really want to play gta4.

His macbook is more than capable of playing the game. It won't be smooth or pretty but its not impossible.

I play it. Got a problem with that? lol

No, but I feel sorry for you IF you are playing gta4 on a macbook lol. I can't even imagine how crappy the graphics must look and how many graphics settings you must disable just to get a decent framerate.

What, really? I've heard it won't run well on anything less than a quad core CPU and the GPU is hardly great. Plus - shared memory? On a game like this?
I guess you can play anything in 320x200.

Hell I play Halo 2 on my White Macbook 2.4GHz GMA X3100. You can run any game on a macbook, you just gotta know which settings to change. I'm not saying it's pretty, just that it's possible.

you can run most any game, but can you play it, that's the question. And w/ GTA IV, I doubt it's too playable. if it all.

I'd love to know what settings they're running it at, that's actually quite smooth. Are there any videos of it during the more intensive moments of the game, like driving on a busy motorway? You can't really tell much from that very dark, very empty first scene of the game.

+1, I'm curious to see it in actual gameplay..

I have no idea i just went on youtube and typed in "gta 4 on aluminum macbook" and that what i got. im guessing its on lowest running 20~30 fps

After patch 1.3 and the latest DOX Optimized video drivers, I am currently playing at 1280X720 at all medium settings with around 25fps on my mpb. Definitely playable on a C2D.

The game still has occasional slow downs and stuttering but I'm hoping future patches will rectify these issues considering that they have been widely reported.
