Hi guys.
So I got GTA4 for Mac OS X.
Yes Mac. No bootcamp. I got it by using cider.

It runs. Although the problem is, is that its extremely laggy.
So laggy your contorls delay for about 5 sec.

The GTA4 recommended setting for PC is
Intel Core 2 Quad 2.4GHz
3GB RAM
512MB of VRAM NVIDIA 8600/ ATI 3870
18GB HDD space.

The 2011 MBP I have beats all of the RECOMMENDED settings.
Intel Core i7-2720QM Quad Core Sandy Bridge 2.2GHz
4GB RAM
1GB AMD Radeon HD 6750M or 384MB Intel HD 3000
370GB of HDD space left.

I did here couple people complain about GTA4 lags on i7 computers.
Although this was over a year ago.

Any ideas?

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; CPU iPhone OS 5_0 like Mac OS X) AppleWebKit/534.46 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/9A5248d Safari/6533.18.5)

Runs just fine on my 2.2 15 in

I guess the problem is the emulation and not your computer's specs. My friend plays gta4 on a windows laptop that is 3 years old, with much worse specs than yours. Try boot camp and you'll play perfectly.

it's probably that sketchy os x client. perhaps try it in bootcamp if it's worth it to you.

Unfortunately I do not own a 7 :(
I thought you could install XP when I bought my MBP but it seems like
it only accepts 7s from 2010 model

Cider will be painfully slow, especially for a game like GTA4. If you want decent performance you're going to have to get BootCamp set up.

I see...
Apparently cider seems to run fine on others like COD or BFBC2.
Probably because GTA is graphic and CPU intensive game
