I searched the threads here, but they're a little old, and stale. I'm checking to see if anyone is using the current versions of Mail/iCal [Lion] with the GTD methodology? I suspect waiting a few weeks for ML may be a better option, but curious anyway.

I downloaded the trial of OmniFocus, but wow...way too complicated. I'm not even really using, or wanting to use ALL aspects of GTD, but the ideas of it. Things like:

  • Tracking Projects
  • Calls
  • To-Dos [Both immediate, and things that can wait]

I do use Evernote, but it lacks in Due Dates, etc...

Thanks in advance!

You may not use all the features of GTD at first, but you might just grow into it over time. OmniFocus can grow with you, not limiting what aspects of GTD you can employ.

Could be the case? I guess I was hoping to do something with what is built in to OS X, and possibly what is coming with ML. OF is okay, it just seems overly complicated to me...?

Yes, OF can seem overly complicated, especially at first. FYI--The iPad version has a much better interface than the Mac version at this time. Take a look at a couple of these notes on setting up and using OF:

A great overall note on how one person uses OF:

(see this and especially Part 2 on contexts)

An interesting twist on Contexts:

Thanks! I'll check those links out. This is very helpful!
