GTX 650 Ti or AMD Radeon HD 6870?

For my Mac Pro, I've been running the (large) HD 6870 (1GB), but came up with a nVidia GTX 650 Ti (1GB) and wondered if it would be better to put in the 650 Ti?

I don't game on it...if anything, it would be for photo/video work. The 6870 uses 2 6-pin power connectors vs. the 650 Ti uses only one and is much smaller.

Do I gain or lose anything by switching?

You gain power reduction. The 650 Ti is on the same performance/technology tier according to Tom's Hardware Graphics Hierarchy Chart.

However, it depends upon your application support that is the real determiner.
