I have a late 2009 Mac Pro dual quad-core with the ATI 5870 or whatever it is.

I am running bootcamp on a seperate drive with no hassles (using the reference ATI catalyst suite in Win7 Ultimate x64 with no probs. Runs games like a dream. Man those CPU's kick ass!)

My question: I have a GTX 295 sitting in my sad old PC, the PC that hasn't been used since I got Bootcamp working so sweetly. Can I stick it in the Mac? On its own? I don't want two cards like the 8800/295 solution. If so, how would I go about doing it?
I have read somewhere that I need to install the Nvidia Mac drivers before changing cards, but which Nvidia Mac drivers? The ones for the GTX 285?
Do I need to flash my card with an EFI update? Is there such a thing?!

I have read and posted in another forum on here that says that a 295 in 10.6.x on a late 2009 Mac Pro will work just like that, but I'm not so sure I want to just try it. Who knows what the card will do.

Any advice gratefully received :)
