GTX660Ti for Mac Pro 3,1 2008?

Hi,

I am thinking of buying the above card for my Mac Pro 2008 for the following reasons:
- 10.11 El Capitan Metal support for GTX 6xx
- Lower TDP compared to GTX570

Performance wise from the paper, GTX660Ti exceeds GTX570 in almost all areas esp for games.
What I do not know is whether the old MB of MacPro3,1 is able to unleash all the power offered by a much newer 660Ti card.

I am not so much into photo/video editing. Fair bit of gaming.

Advice, opinion would be much appreciated.
