Also, do refurb purchases get students free iPods too?
 
It took about two months before unibody MacBooks began showing up in the refurb store. Also, no, refurbs do not qualify for the free iPod rebate.

If you're a student you could just get the Base MBP for 1099 and the free touch (valued at 229)
Sell the iPod for 200

1099-200=$899, less than a new White MB.

Oh and I forgot to mention selling the free printer, that would knock it down even more, and if you have an old mac this could get down to the price of a Mini.
