Apple sold 15 million in 9 months in 2010. So for iPad 2 will it be higher? 18-20 million range? Or will they start losing market share to others?

Im wondering how much the existing userbase will affect the numbers. 15M sold means 15M have to make a decision on if an incremental upgrade is worth another $600.

Just like with the Verizon phone, I know a ton of people who want the iPad 2 but not many who are going to buy anytime soon.

They will sell around the same, because there is the people who bought the first one that won't buy the second, then there is the people who dod already buy one but sill will buy iPad 2 (like me). Then there is everyone who dident buy one. So I'll say around the same amount

I know of 1 more than last year.. ME! I think it will deff be a lot more. As soon as Apps start taking advantage of the dual-core CPU.. everyone will want a new one. I just am hoping they all won't sell out so I can get one on the 11th!

Considering they're going after every Joe and Jane Scmho with an aging, malware-infested C2D desktop used only for email, social media, web and YouTube, I'd say >50 million.

I think a safe bet is 30 million. However, I think 60+ is possible, assuming supply is available given demand...!

30-40 million. it's going to be HUGE for them

reason

cool factor, colors, perceived added value, moar appssss

25 to 30 million easily! Many people sat on the sidelines waiting to see how the iPad would takeoff before making a decision. Once it proved itself, many decided to wait for the next generation release. I believe the iPad 2 will really kick the wall down this year.

50 million in the twelve months following March 11. And if I had to, I'd take the Over.

Anything under 25 mil worldwide would be a sales disappointment. The iPad was only available in the U.S. for complete first 9 month period. Other countries had it for less time. This launch it will be available in multiple markets in the same month and roll out to other markets should be faster as well.
