I purchased an iphone 4 unsubsidized a couple of weeks ago, not having done my research ahead of time regarding the status of the unlock solution for the newer basebands w/AT&T locked phones.

I haven't taken it out of the box, and with the new announcement re. the unlock release being postponed until after 4.3, and having exhausted my options as far as friends possibly traveling to Canada anytime soon, I'm considering returning it and buying a factory unlocked phone online (I assume it would come from Canada?).

I'm happy to pay the extra cost that will presumably be involved but I want to be able to know that I'm purchasing it from a safe seller...(ie. not someone who is going to take my money and never send me my phone or send me one that isn't factory unlocked etc.)

I've been looking on ebay and there are so many different sellers--I just don't know how to tell if they are legit...for example, I found one that had good ratings but they had a "strictly no returns" policy...

Does anyone with experience purchasing a factory unlocked iphone know, is the above policy, for example, typical? Is that a red flag? Are there any sellers that several people have purchased from or that are known to be reliable/trustworthy?

I would be grateful for any advice...I just can't afford to get screwed.
