Update : Note to 3G Users - If you upgrade in iTunes to 2.1 and have intelliscreen installed (or other programs that modify your com.apple.springboard.plist you WILL get the Spinning Wheel of Death after you upgrade and have to restore.

Step 1) Download your files and place them on the desktop.

3g firmware or 2g firmware,

quickpwn gui 1.2 for firmware 2.1

TotalCommander

T-PoT.1.1

Step 2) Start itunes v8

Step 3) Select restore or update while holding shift.

This will prompt you to chose a firmware to restore and update, chose your 2.1 firmware file that you downloaded onto your desktop. Select it and press open.

You should see the process start.

When complete you will see.

When this screen pops up your phone should become activated.

Step 4) Start QuickPWN GUI

Select your headset

Click browse

Select your downloaded 2.1 firmware file

Select Installer, Cydias & logos

Click go

When it asks you to turn off your phone, hold the top button till slide to power off comes on and turn it off but make sure its still plugged into usb

After you hit y for start the process will start after your phone goes into DFU mode, follow the onscreen instructions to put the phone into DFU mode, when it goes into DFU you will see something like the screen below.

Leave the phone alone for 10 minutes let it do its thing till it boots up again. Cydia and installer will be there but not visible yet, so keep going

Step 5) Install Total commander and copy T-PoT.1.1 and 2.1.MI.patched to the total commander's install directory.

Launch the program by executing the exe.

Step 6) On the left hand side browse to your install folder of total commender, default is c:\totalcmd and double click T-Pot.1.1.zip you should see an install pop up, click it

Click OK

Step 7) On the right hand drop down select the bottom -\- selection

then browse to /System/Library/PrivateFrameWorks/MobileInstallation.framework

on the left hand side open the the 2.1.MI.patched.zip and copy over the MobileIntallation file.

Confirm to overwrite the file

Step 8) Still in TotalCommander delete /private/var/mobile/Library/Caches/com.apple.mobile.installation.plist

Step 9) Reboot the phone and all is good!
