Guide on how to dock ipod touch WITH griffin iclear( or any other case that will fit)

So here is a simple and easy way to dock your ipod touch with specifically a griffin iclear case attached. Other cases may work as well too but only the iclear has been tested. Also only the Accurian ipod dock from radio shack has been tested.

I DO NOT know what will happen if you use any other adapter or dock (probably the same results).

So you will need a small saw with very fine teeth. I found that the dock adapter was very easy to saw through and quite brittle so you must be very careful in the process.

Use a number 6 dock adapter which is an older generation ipod dock connector.

Cut approximately on the sides so that the adapter will look like this:

Attach to your dock and enjoy not having to take off the iclear every time you want to dock.

Also can somebody tell me how to put pictures directly on the thread from flikr instead of linking them? I tried to insert the link of the picture from the add link for picture button but it did not work.

the Agent 18 clear case includes a dock adapter that works great. also i have an original dock that i simply removed the outside housing from and the ipod fits on the perfectly with the case...hope that helps

oh I forgot to mention that the purpose of this was to ensure the use that the dock connection on the touch does not get damaged by not using a dock adapter. The touch appears to be only attached by the extremely thin chip on the dock connector when it is docked. Thus it is necessary to use the adapter to ensure that the touch does not rock back and forth, causing the chip to bend.

Every case I have for my Touch works if I just take the dock insert out of the dock.

I've just removed the dock connector in the first place like the person above mentioned. I like the iClear case but, I prefer my iPod naked.
