Guide/Tutorial for Theming?

I've looked through several theming websites and have tried googling and have just ended up frustrated.

Are there any guides or tutorials on how to properly install themes and tweaks? Stuff like how to change app icons or carrier logos or install widgets etc.

Any tips/links will be appreciated

I went through a few pages of that and it doesn't yield any results on how to install a theme onto the iPhone. I'm not looking at designing themes yet, I want to know how to properly install one.

Yes, that's easy. How about when I download a theme from dBar for example and SSH onto my phone but launch it through winterboard and it comes out all messed up and not how it should?

Then it is most likely an iOS 4 theme, and fixing it takes some work.

What 'hackthatphone' said (site is very useful btw).
