Does anyone know where I can find a no cd/dvd patch for Guitar Hero 3 for mac? I would much rather just leave the disc in its case so it doesn't get scratched and could still play the game.

Also, does anyone know if there are any more songs you can download yet? I would have expected there to be some since its been out for a couple months. I'm getting kinda tired of always playing the same songs, it would be nice if you could add your own or download some more. Thanks.

This reply is a bit late but whatever. Just make a disc image of the CD. I recommend using Toast Titanium but you could just use disc utility also. Hope this helps.

I tried that, quite a few times. Didn't work. The game balks at this mounted image... it's demands the actual, physical disk.

Nah, no thanks - I don't feel like keeping a redundant 6.1 GB file on my hard drive, anyway.

And so tonight I googled for, and found, a no-CD patcher. Just downloaded it and ran it, and tested the game... works fine without the physical CD or image mounted. :D

Where did you find the no cd patch? That is what Im looking for because even keeping the image and mounting it doesnt work.

I hope so. Not looking forward to having to downgrade.

Whenever I deal with version-specific No-CD patches like this, I always take care to copy and save the unpatched original app (usually zipping it up in the same folder as the patched app.) That way I can easily revert and upgrade if/when the need arises.

Check gamecopyworld.com

They used to be a big source for No-CD cracks. I assume they might still exist. At work right now so I am not going to check.

Ahhh, blast this damn game. I can only get through 79% of Through the Fire and Flame on Expert.

What a beast that is!
(I play on PS2 though, not Mac)

It's all about mastering the song.

If you want something fun to master, play Cliffs of Dover on hard. It's actually quite easy (and enjoyable!).

own songs

Hey, i've played GH 3 on the wii, and was wandering if i sould buy it for mac because the wii version has only like 42 songs on it...

can u add your own songs on the mac verision?

Thx

I'm not sure about creating customs for Guitar Hero Mac, but I'm sure you can do it for PC. So I'd advise that you use Boot Camp and get uTorrent and download a Windows custom Guitar Hero.

After i ran the patch on the game everything works fine but at the the first screen it crashes and shuts down. Any advise?
