This article claims that is knows several of the tracks that are to be used in the upcoming Guitar Hero IV title, after a UK band called "The Answer" said that one of their songs is going to be used in the game.

It's too early to tell whether or not this is legit, but if it is, the track list looks effing amazing! I was kind of hoping to see appearances by bands like Linkin Park, Tool, Breaking Benjamin, Chevelle, and maybe even Dream Theater. Any of those would have been awesome. But hey, we have a long way to go before it's apparent release on November 1st of this year. What do you guys think?

Tool is about masterpiece albums not singles. I'll go out on a limb and claim we will never ever see Tool in a Guitar Hero game unfortunately. And I have to say this, how could you put Tool together with those three bands???? :-(

Hopefully they don't forcibly bundle it with a guitar and let us use our existing ones :)

I don't really understand why a Guitar Hero IV needs to even come out. Every new Guitar Hero game does nothing but bring new tracks. Why not make Guitar Hero III the definitive Guitar Hero game and just keep coming out with new songs as downloadable content?

Also...you know you're a nerd when you only recognize two tracks on that list, and one of them only because Weird Al parodied it.

Cause they can make more money releasing new software and downloads. Plus with how crappy and limited Nintendo's wifi network is they have no real way to distribute songs to Wii owners via online methods.

Well, they are planning on doing a recall of Wii disks sometime soon, so perhaps they can add a method to do that to the new disks...it doesn't seem too hard to make a directory that song files can be dumped in to on the flash drive and have the revised disks check that directory for music. They could probably work something out with Nintendo.

As it stands you can't even use a channel that is stored on a SD card IIRC, which imo is plain stupid. You should be able to use or save games on to the SD card as well as use channels off of it.

As it stands the Wi-Fi network is pretty poor, they could have done better and tbh I would have been willing to pay a bit more if Nintendo took the time to have a adequate online system and not a half-assed "lets just use the DS network" plan that they do now.

Praxis, is Nintendo receiving downloadable GH3 songs as yet?
Ed are you playing GH3...I need someone to play online(PS3)

I'm not too hype about this GH game every year and believe me theres no way I'm buying another guitar anytime soon.

they could milk GH if they just keep adding song packs on live/psn/nintendo wifi.

Bless

Yeah honestly I was only hoping for "The Pot", which is one of my favorite songs by them. Honestly, that song might fare better in Rock Band, as all of its parts are as good if not better than the guitar.
