I'm consindering buying Guitar Rig 2, the one that comes with the rig controller when its available in a few more days.
My questions to any mac guitarists out there are these:

Can I use a Digitech RP-20 effects processor to act as the midi controller with Guitar Rig 2 (and if so- how)?

What other solutions have you had experience with connecting your guitar to your mac?

What additional equipment would be good with this (ie. monitors, midi controllers, etc)
