Ok,

I am trying to load guitar rig as a plug-in into Logic Pro 8 so that I can record me and my groups jam sessions as well as recording final takes. Ideally I would like to have the multiple inputs of the two guitars and the roland electronic drum set all going into my G5 and into logic pro 8. I bought a bunch of those Behringer UCG102 USB links to take in the input and I got guitar rig 3 which works great! but I can only seem to use the inputs thru the guitar rig 3 stand alone application and not as a plug in for logic. I load the plug in and try to play but no input is read. Below are my steps. Please tell me where I messed up.

Open Logic

add new software instrument

click below the I/O symbol and choose:
AU MIDI controlled effects>Native instruments>Guitar Rig 3 MFX> Stereo

Hit the Record Ready on the track

Try strumming and nothing.

I then set the audio in preferences to the aggregate usb device for the input. Still nothing.

Please help! don't know what else to do and I've been messing around with the program and the directions for a while.

I had the same issue here. Try this, it worked for me:

- Double Click the "Guitar Rig" button below the I/O symbol it will open the Guitar Rig screen.
- In the top left dropdown list of that screen, beside where "Side Chain" is written, choose "Input 1" (I chose, if you wanna try something else, go ahead).

Well, right after doing this, i started to hear my guitar through the app.

Hope this works for you too.

have you tried creating an audio track?

- create audio trk
- in the Inserts select GTR Rig
- set the input to correspond to the input of your guitar's cable going in to your audio interface
- record enable audio track
