so yesterday at school there was a pretty nasty fight at the c-train station.
between a bunch g's from another school and guys from my school...
so the guy from my schools gets hit over the head lousville slugger style then knocks the bat away and starts wailing the other guy with a pipe and so on.
so today after school evrythings normal, untill we hear gunshots goin off.
remember this is CANADA.
wtf eh.

Time to forget about moving to Canada :D

Sadly- the fact that this event is note worthy, makes Canada all the more attractive.

kammron - hope you weren't on the receiving end of any of that. Glad you made it out alive enough to post about it.

i just know the people involved.
stemming from this, theres been two shootings this week.
no ones been killed.
anyway, its not my fight so im staying away from it.

Sounds nasty.

Crime and violence can sadly, it would appear, pop up anywhere... :(

half this city is ghetto.
everyone act hard but most are harmless.
toronto and vancouver are worse.
but eventually calgary will get the level.
its just a matter of time.

What do you mean by half the city is "ghetto"? Half of it is poor, half the people dress "ghetto", etc. ?

I wouldn't worry about it too much, at least you guys are safer than most American cities.

No kidding. NY and LA come to mind. They used to be much worse but that isn't saying much.

Now days gangs are in places like KC and Omaha Nebraska. Weird.

Nothing like having a few shots go over your head in the morning to wake you up! Sad. :(

Kammron, my advice would be to hang out with the Hart kids. No one wants to mess with the Hart family.

when i say half the city is ghetto , its just that theres hoods allover.
no where near the calibre of a typical US city of course.

Where d'you think Canada's getting them from??

Haven't you noticed the decrease in violence in South Central and the Bronx?

Extrapolate. ;)
i dont know, ive stayed in crenshaw and driven through a lot of south central...
i dont think violence has really decreased there.
Ice T sais it best, " L.A gangs will never die, just multiply"
but really thats every city.
every citys got hoods, i live in one.

Actually, violence is on the decrease in those areas. I know cities like LA, Chicago, and NY have seen the lowest murder numbers in decades (I think NYC hit a high of over 2,000 in the early 90's), of course, not to say things are perfect. I don't know about your city, but most of the murders around here seem to stem from arguments and drug disputes.

all the murders here are over drugs & turf.
theres been 2 shootings in my area in the past 2 weeks.
the last 5 murders in calgary were drug related.
i cant imagine living in new york, L.A., Detroit etc. its bad enough here
