There is a guy advertising on craigslist that he can unlock the iPhone 4.2.1. I bought my wife a iPhone 4 yesterday and even though the firmware is 4.1, the modem is 2.10.04. I emailed him about it and he said he can unlock it. Is ere any truth to this because when I checked online, it says that 2.10.04 cannot be unlocked yet. If he is lying, I'm guessing he just wants to meet up so he can steal the phone or something.

I can't imagine how this guy is attempting to profit from you in this situation. It would be one thing if you went to some random website and purchased an unlock from them. Record the meeting if you go and share it. I say he tries to switch your phone out for one of his that's defective in some way.

Jailbroken yes, unlocked no.

just for fun ask him how tell him you have searched and can't find any unlocks. See what he has to say.. probably just hoping you are dumb and easy bait..

He's lying.

If he wants you to leave your phone, get out of there.

Unlocking takes max 5 minutes.

I wouldn't meet up with the guy anyways. He'll just take it and run.
