So, I am having an interesting problem tonight. I have been trying to reserve Win10 all night because I was on the fence of getting it. It has been showing in my taskbar since early last month but never went through the process. Decided to reserve it tonight, when I noticed the button for reserving it inside the GWX app was missing. So I clicked around and found that it wasn't allowing me to upgrade because of the VMware SVGA display driver. I uninstalled the VMware drivers entirely but the GWX icon disappeared along with the drivers. It still shows as that it can display in the taskbar though in the Control Panel. I have also check the Windows Update CP and nothing there either.
Anybody with similar problems with VMware find a way to fix this? I read online that someone was eventually able to get around this by sitting in the Update CP but I have no luck for an hour.
(Host OS: El Capitan PB2, VM Software: VMware Fusion Tech Preview (latest build), guest OS: Windows 8.1 fully updated)
PS: I have tried every reg trick possible, running the app manually, etc, etc, and I am still getting no where.
