Good morning everyone.

I tried searching and I did not find anything specific. Sorry if it does exists.

I have been using AW2 for two years on the gym. And testing a lot of apps for it. But I haven’t find the ideal app yet.

I don’t know what do you think if we create a post with all tested apps for gym workout and our impressions. I mean apps designed to help us with routines, or exercise info, or whatever but always related with gym machines/dumbbells/barbells, not outdoor workout.

I know several ones. And for the moment the best are one:
GymLife. (Only in English)
Pros: It allows custom your workout, sets, reps, weight/time. Even create custom workouts with custom exercises. It also has excercise info and image on the watch. Or even modify some parameters during workout (weight for example).
Contras: The big problem is that free version is limited to only 2 custom routines/workout. UI a little bit upgreadeable. Can’t see whole routine exercise list at a glance. (And currently HR is not shown during workout, but I guess to be solved soon)

Another good app. Gymatic (only in English). It auto detects the movement and record the exercise. It also allows to custom a workout (unlimited). But only 8 custom excercise. And it is a problem because it has no image neither info about exercise, so it’s impossible for me to be sure if I am doing or it is detecting the correct one.

I have tested much more ones, but most of them horrible, or with a huge subscription price for almost nothing. I accept to make a pay, or even a subscription, but with a reasonable cost/features ratio.

What if, we all share with everyone the apps for gym we know?

Thanks.

I would recommend SmartGym https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/smartgym-manage-your-workout/id922744883?mt=8

Great app with a great developer. Constant support and updates.

Thanks!!!! A lot!!! I think is just what I was looking for. It even has Spanish language for te exercise. I will try it this week.

Do these gym apps use their own algorithms to determine the calorie burn and whatnot during different exercieses, or do they use the same data one would get using Apple's "Other" (Lifting Weights) workout?
