To "unbrick" an iPod Touch or iPhone, use the below instructions:
To restore your iPhone or iPod Touch, hold down the Power and Home buttons on the device until the Apple logo appears on the screen, at which point you can let go of the Power button-- but keep holding the Home button. When you see the "Connect to iTunes" logo appear, you may let go of the Home button, connect your device to your computer, and use iTunes to restore. From then on, everything will be lost, don't worry, it will have a backup of your songs and other stuff, it will sync back in when restoring.

Download/install ZiPhone.
Open ZiPhone.
Connect Your iPod.
Click Jalibreak on ZiPhone.
Wait about 45 seconds.
Your iPod should be now jailbroken.

Download/install ZiPhone.
Open ZiPhone.
Connect Your iPod.
Click Jalibreak on ZiPhone.
Wait about 45 seconds.
Your iPod should be now jailbroken.
Be careful,
With the new ziphone 2.6b
Go to Advanced Options and click Clear NVRAM
Then click the iPod Touch specific jailbreak
wait no more than one minute, and it should work perfectly
